Email us about this animal

Makana has strong black genetics and some amazing animals in her pedigree, including Nishio, Sinopsis Nocturna, 4Peruvian Legacy and Acero Marka's Mr Know It All, to name a few. She is carrying a cria from Aladdin Of KPR, who is not only incredibly dense, but has maintained his fineness at an advanced age and is well known for passing those traits on to his crias. This is an incredibly good deal. Aladdin is well proven with many champion offspring, and a stud fee listed at $3,000. Makana is a pretty girl with a gentle disposition. She has nice conformation, perfect teeth and good fleece coverage. When she was born her fleece looked dark brown, but at her first shearing what we found was an obvious true black alpaca with a solid blanket. I think her sire was the same. An incredibly dense male, he was registered as dark brown but as an adult is absolutely true black. Makana comes from a line of females with a history of easy births and plenty of milk, so we're sure she'll make a great mom too. Her name means 'gift' in Hawaiian.

SIRE Alpacawork's Shadowfax

Color: True Black   ARI# 840555    CLAA#

True black and very dense. He has a calm temperament that he has passed on to his offspring. He looks a lot like his sire, Nishio.

DAM Alpacas & Angels Leilani

Color: Bay Black   ARI# 30544567    CLAA#

Leilani is a beautiful granddaughter of 4Peruvian Legacy, with strong black genetics from her mom's side. She's an especially sweet girl, and easy to handle. This clearly runs in her family, as her dam and all three of Leilani's crias have those same qualities. Leilani is a proven mom. All three births were easy and unassisted, with plenty of milk for the cria. And each time the result was a beautiful black female cria. She really is an easy keeper. Her 2010 daughter, Calypso, was born at a very average 16.3 lbs, started growing immediately and weighed in at 99 lbs at 6 months old! And Leilani's not big at all, but she maintains a healthy weight while nursing with no trouble at all.

Service Sire Aladdin Of KPR

Color: Bay Black   ARI# 821007    CLAA#

Aladdin is one of those rare herdsires that is fine, consistent and dense. In addition, he maintains that fineness in both himself and his cria which is one of the main keys we are all breeding for in alpacas. Add his typey head and dense bone structure and Aladdin is exceptional for any breeding program. Aladdin is a son of the late 5Peruvian Royal Inca Legend. Inca Legend is known for throwing incredible greys and blacks and his offspring are well known as winners in the show ring. In addition, Aladdin is the half brother to Legend’s Challenger of KPR (Boomer) and has almost identical histogram and fiber statistics. Their skin biopsies are within 1-2% and the type of crimp and fleece they throw is almost identical. Aladdin is the ticket for dark from dark brown through black (over 60% of the time he darkens the dam and 80% of the time it is either the same or darker than dam). If you breed white or beige, all have been fawn or darker (55% fawn, 11% Brown, 11% Grey, 22% BB). Aladdin is truly the total package. He has 118 registered cria on the ground including five multi-champions. Check out his champion offspring-especially Never Summer's Black Ice, who is a black male and was awarded Supreme Champion!!!
