About our Alpaca Farm

We are located in Loomis, a small town about 17 milies east of Sacramento. We have 35 animals, most of which I can see from my office window. We started our herd with 6 animals - concentrating on blacks and a few whites. As time went on we had one brown cinnamon colored animal and fell in love with that color as well. We have been extremely fortunate to have had minimal animal tragedies. We attribut this to having a camelid vet that lives within 10 minute drive. We take our animals to her, so the environment is controlled and clean. We are active in the "alpaca community", being members/officers of Calpaca, Alpaca Gold Association, The Alpaca Pac, Coarse Broads and AOBA. In starting out with alpacas we were primarily interested in breeding and selling the animals. However, as the herd grows, and so do the number of fleece bags after shearing day, we are becoming more interested in and about fiber. This ultimately is a fiber industry. We adapt our breeding program to a continual improvement of fleece. We are still as enthusiastic now as we were the day we started in alpaca business.
