About our Alpaca Farm

Image is being processed by ANWe are now celebrating our 11th great year of alpaca ownership! We never tire of watching the antics of our herd and enjoy sharing our knowledge and passion for these animals with others.

Bay Springs Farm is the fulfillment of our lifelong dream. After purchasing land in 1993, we spent several years preparing for a new life focused on raising a herd of outstanding alpacas.

In 1999, we invested in a small foundation herd and have carefully selected top quality herdsires to improve the quality of our animals with each successive generation. Our goal is to produce alpacas with fine fleece, diverse colors, and excellent conformation. We also select for good disposition and temperament and work closely with our herd to insure that they are easy to handle. We strive to maintain a healthy herd. All of our own animals have been tested to insure they are BVD-PCR negative. Visiting animals who are boarding or breeding here are also required to be BVD-PCR negative.

Our farm is located on 10 acres of what was the last dairy farm in Cape May County. Located at the southernmost tip of New Jersey, we are blest with a delightful climate where snows are rare and gentle ocean breezes keep us cool in summer. Cape May, which is a resort community of old Victorian homes, is also a key staging area for bird migration.

We operate a farm store, which is open year around, offering a wide variety of alpaca products--fleece, yarn, apparel, blankets, and alpaca novelties. We delight in sharing our alpaca experience with others and are open to the public every weekend and at other times by appointment.

We are only a short distance from New York, Philadelphia, Atlantic City and Washington, DC so be sure to visit our farm and see our fleecy friends "on your way to Cape May" and observe the "alpaca lifestyle" firsthand.

Thinking about raising alpacas? We would love to talk to you about what is involved and how alpacas can enrich your life.
