Paso Ligero's Gandalf is a big, solid male who grows great staple length of fine fleece. This 3/4 Peruvian boy is ready to begin his breeding career, and we are beginning to use him in our own breeding program at Paso Ligero.
Gandalf's blanket is a very fine, bright white, but he has medium brown and true black markings around his head and feet. With his blanket not getting any large markings, we chose not to try to show him in halter class, since he would show in the tough white class where color spots often are detrimental, even outside of the blanket. His fleece has great qualities, including fineness, density, brightness and decent crimp and structure. We just started showing his fleece, and he placed 3rd in the 2011 MAPACA Jubilee Spin-Off, White Yearling competition in a large class.
Gandalf's lineage includes lots of color possibilities as well, and his great grandfather is the impressive Hemingway on his sire's side. His sire is an appaloosa, and is 1/2 Peruvian, with his dam being medium brown with a black face and socks and a full Peruvian.
