Email us about this animal

Paso Ligero’s Sequoia is simply a fine example of a suri, and was judged so by Jude Anderson at the very competitive 2008 MAPACA Jubilee, receiving a first place as a 7-month-old. At 13 months, Sequoia took first at the MABA Alpaca Celebration and Reserve Color Champion and then took Reserve Color Champion at PAOBA's 2009 Breeder's Showcase from the second row. Her extremely dense fleece radiates luster with beautiful individualized locks and a very typey suri head. Though her dam and sire are both white, her grandsire’s (Meadowgate’s Eminance Grise) color genetics showed through with her rich medium fawn body and white face. To top off the package, Sequoia’s personality is as calm and sweet as they come. She’s a joy to show and handle. Sequoia had a gorgeous dark brown female cria last fall to Sierra Bonita's Peruvian Sniper - a record 19-time champion true black suri male. Her cria, Sassafras, carries locks, luster and fineness to compete at her mom's level in the show ring or better. Sequoia is now confirmed pregnant to Cantano's Peruvian Claytonite, a stunning "purple maroon" color male with rare genetics. We can't wait to see those results - she's due in mid-August 2011. We think you will be excited by Sequoia and her offspring as well. We'd consider selling her for the right price, so call to make an appointment today to visit the farm and see her firsthand.

Sequoia's reserve champion award from the second row

Sequoia has a gorgeous, typey suri head

Sequoia's first reserve championship at MABA 2008 at 13 months old!

Sequoia's first cria at two weeks old

Cantano's Peruvian Claytonite - Sequoia's current service sire

SIRE USA Camion

Color: White   ARI# 185434    CLAA#

Camion has extremely dense, tight locks, superb coverage, and a beautiful, well-proportioned body. Wonderful luster and head make him an ideal choice for a herdsire. He is one of Meadowgate Farm Alpacas' top suri herdsires.

DAM PLA's Desire

Color: White   ARI# 30375710    CLAA#

Desire was the first cria born to Paso Ligero from our foundation female, WWF Stella. She simply shines with the luster in her fleece. Her sire, Meadowgate Peruvian Eminance Grise, adds gorgeous gray possibilities to her color potential.

Service Sire Cantano's Peruvian Claytonite

Color: Dark Brown   ARI# 1207309    CLAA#

Diane Beaver at Alpaca Ventures described Claytonite as the best male offspring produced on her farm by Cantano of Peru. Cantano died fairly recently, and now Claytonite is a very limited edition and rare "purple maroon" son. He carries the same rare color as his sire, that deep, dark maroon that glistens with a purple tinge of color.
