About our Alpaca Farm
Starting in 2005 with two pregnant female Suri's and one yearling male we have grown to nine. We had been looking into Alpacas for two years previously, talking to others, visiting farms. Already having horses we felt the Alpacas would fit in well, and after Incorporating we were able to take advantage of the depreciation and other writeoffs that are available.
We started them in a little shed that I fixed up, this worked for the first couple years, but as we grew we were fortunate to find a larger farm with the amenities we needed. We lease our barns from a retired welder friend that used to raise cattle, its not to far from our home.
We have 3 females and 6 males, we have one 3/4 Accoyo white male that at five years old still has 23 micron lustrus fleece named Rocket. We also have a very friendly male that loves to give kisses. Also have a couple of other young boys that have great potential. Of our females we have one older female who has been a great mother to most of our herd, one bred maiden and one three year old that had here first cria who we hope to show this spring.
