Email us about this animal

Schnapps of Castle Pines is the first offspring from our foundation female "Aji Pepper". Schnapps received her mom's extreme fineness genetics with a fiber diameter after one year of 17.5. She has the strongest Macgyver influence of all our animals. Given her exceptional genetic potential, we now plan to cross her with the Pucara Kahuna line. With two national "Herdsire of the Year" in her future offspring's pedigree, we are excited about the progeny potential for this girl. In her first year in the showring, the judges were very impressed with her fiber characteristics. Her smaller size kept her from placing higher. Her mom was slow in developing her size potential but is now a strong 160+ pds. Schnapps appears to be following this same development pattern. She is currently at Pucara International where she will soon be bred to Pucara's Kahuna, who is no longer open to outside breedings. This cross of the MacGyver and Kahuna lines has exciting possibilities.

SIRE DDF Peruvian Macgyver

Color: Med. Brown   ARI# 181450    CLAA#

This full Peruvian maroon colored suri has produced more Champion alpacas than any other alpaca herd sire in the world. He is truly amazing!!!! At the 2003 AAA Futurity Macgyver ‘s offspring placed in 20 classes making him the 2003 “ Herd Sire of The Year”. In 2004 his offspring placed in even more classes than the previous year. He again became the” Herd Sire Of The Year” for the 2nd time. In 2005 he did it again and made history. No other alpaca male has ever won “Herd Sire Of The Year” 3 times . In 2006, guess what? Again Macgyver was the clear winner making him “Herd Sire Of The Year” 4 times. In 2007,2008 and 2009 we are in awe! For the 5th,6th and 7th time, Macgyver, won “Herd Sire Of The Year”. He has 100% Suri offspring and has never produced a Huacaya.

DAM Peruvian Aji Pepper

Color: Med. Fawn   ARI# 30471078    CLAA#

Peruvian Aji Pepper is one of our two foundation females purchased from Leslie Loveless at Sierra Bonita. We knew we wanted the influence of the Macgyver line. Aji is the daughter of Sierra Bonita's Sargent Pepper, one of the finest males ever sired by Macgyver. Sargent Pepper has 8 Championships and sold for $132,000 at the 2006 Futurity. Aji has an all-star pedigree with grandparents like Macgyver, Helios and Picabo. She has beautiful high twist locks, amazing luster and extremely fine fiber (17.6 FD / 99.8 CF / growth rate of .49 mm/day at 13 months). She passed along these great fiber stats to her first offspring, a beautiful female named "Schnapps of Castle Pines". In her one and only show appearance for us, Aji took home a Reserve Fawn Color Championship at the second largest show in the country in 2007. She is currently bred to "Kahuna", the premier white sure herdsire in the country the last few years. We believe this crossing of the Macgyver and Kahuna lines offers extreme potential. With Kahuna being closed off recently to outside breedings, this is a rare opportunity to tap in to his genetic potential and proven ability to produce extraordinary offspring.
