1. How do I add my alpacas to the National Alpaca Catalog?

It’s easy to add alpacas and more information about your farm. If you’re an AOBA member, go to the page called Add Your Alpacas and choose a subscription level according to how many alpacas you want to add. Add your AOBA login information. The next step is to pay for your listings, and then you can start adding alpaca listings immediately. Next time you want to add or change your alpaca information, you can simply log in here. (The link to log in is also found in the top right of this web site.) If you’re not an AOBA member yet, you’ll need to join AOBA in order to access this website.

2. How do my listing pages on AOBAalpacas.com help me get more exposure than other alpaca directories?

First of all, the biggest contributing factor here is that every page – including each page about your farm or alpacas – can potentially show up in Google searches online. People don’t have to come to AOBAalpacas.com to search and find your animals.

If someone types in Yahoo.com “suri females for sale AZ”, for example, it’s possible that any suri female alpacas you’ve listed at your Arizona ranch in the directory could show up in that Yahoo search. Same goes for other search engines. Whether someone is using Google, Yahoo, Ask, etc., your listing pages at AOBAalpacas.com enjoy the possibility of showing up in results.

This is because the structure of every page is optimized for visibility in the search engines, while most directories of alpacas require the searcher go to the actual website to search its database.

We’ve made sure that our coast-to-coast catalog of alpacas for sale will bring your more visibility than any other directory or catalog you can find. Of course you’ll also benefit with the AOBA brand behind you and a host of features and criteria your farm can show for within the site, too.

3. I’m an AOBA member but I can’t find my farm’s basic listing

All current AOBA members in good standing are being added to the farm directory. If you don’t see your farm listed, here are a couple things you can check:

  1. You farm should be found under the name that AOBA has on file for your farm. Are you still using the same farm name you submitted to AOBA when you first joined? Have you looked under possible variations?
  2. Have you tried searching for farms according to your zip code? If your farm is listed under an old name, for example, this should show you all farms in your area. Try this search here.
  3. If you’re still not seeing your farm, could it be that your membership has lapsed, or your membership fees are outstanding?
  4. We want to make sure all members are included, so please check with us to make sure your farm was not missed due to an oversight.

4. How do I get my alpaca listings to show on my website, too?

This is one of the most exciting features of the AOBA North American Alpaca Catalog. The new OnePoint Alpaca Update, an included feature, gives you the ability to display your alpacas on your own website. You can read more about this and get started here: OnePoint Alpaca Update.

5. I’m not a member of AOBA. Can I still list my alpacas?

At the moment, the AOBA North American Alpaca Catalog is available only with AOBA membership and is not available to nonmembers. You will find that AOBA offers many other benefits to its members, and we urge you to consider joining. Learn about AOBA membership here.

6. How can I purchase advertising on the National Alpaca Catalog?

At the moment, display advertising is not available on AOBAalpacas.com. However, please let us know if you are interested in advertising, as this is a feature we may consider adding in the future.
